We build a fast, free histogram maker and write plain-English guides for everyone who has ever stared at a column of numbers and thought, “what does this actually look like?”
Free Histogram Maker is a single-purpose tool that turns raw numbers into a clear histogram, complete with the summary statistics and frequency table behind it. Alongside the tool we publish step-by-step guides for making histograms in Excel, Google Sheets, R, Python, SPSS, MATLAB, Desmos, on a TI-84 calculator and more — because sometimes you need the chart in the software you already use.
The tool is free to use with no account and no limits. We keep the lights on with unobtrusive advertising, which means you can make as many charts as you like without ever hitting a paywall. We do not sell your data — in fact, your numbers never leave your browser.
Plenty of sites will draw bars for you. We focus on the parts that actually help you understand your data: sensible automatic binning, a full frequency and relative-frequency table, an automatic read of the distribution’s shape and skewness, and clean PNG, SVG and CSV exports you can drop straight into a report. Everything is mobile-first, so it works just as well on a phone as on a laptop.
Our guides are written and reviewed to match the menus and functions in current versions of each tool. Software changes, so if you spot a step that no longer matches what you see on screen, please let us know and we will fix it.
